Softlog Systems expands ICP Secure Programming capabilities by avoiding repeated programming of the same MCU.
January 26, 2025 – Softlog Systems (2006) Ltd., a leading provider of innovative in-circuit flash programming solutions, today announced the expansion of ICP Secure Programming capabilities.
Secure Flash Programming is a feature that reduces the risk of intellectual property being pirated during the production process. Using breakthrough, proprietary technology, Softlog System’s Secure Flash Programming protects against piracy at the manufacturing plant.
Softlog Systems starts protecting your Hex file before it ever reaches the manufacturer. We help you extract a security buffer from the hex file, and using our software GUI, upload the password-protected firmware to the Softlog programmer. The programmer can then be safely sent to the production facility.
Next, you’ll create an environment file that contains the hex file and configuration information. Secure Programming software encrypts the environment file using an encryption algorithm and adds a counter to limit the amount of successfully programmed devices. The programmer programs MCUs until the counter reaches zero.
Repeated programming of already programmed MCUs reduces capacity of the predefined counter above thus it reduces total capacity of the batch. To avoid it, Softlog added new feature which prevents programming of already programmed MCU – contact Softlog Systems for details.
Since we started, Softlog Systems has been dedicated to developing the world’s best In-Circuit Serial Flash Programmers (single channel and GANG). For over 25 years, we have continued to expand and upgrade our line of products, which are recognized by manufacturers as high-quality, reliable programmers.
