Softlog Systems Introduces High-Level RS-232 Communication for ICP Family Programmers
September 29, 2025 – Softlog Systems, a leading provider of in-circuit flash programming solutions, today announced the launch of High-Level RS-232 Communication, a new capability designed to enhance the flexibility and integration of its ICP Family of programmers.
This enhancement was developed in response to specific customer needs for PC-free operation and tighter integration into automated production environments.
High-Level RS-232 Communication enables users to fully operate ICP programmers through simple RS-232 commands from their own hardware controllers, such as Raspberry Pi or MCU-based systems. Once programming environments are preloaded, all further operations can be executed without the need for a PC.

Core Functions
The new high-level commands allow users to:
- Access programmer and environment information
- Switch or refresh programming environments
- Start standalone programming sequences
- Retrieve programming results
In addition, up to 256 bytes of variable data can be dynamically applied to program memory (flash) or data memory (EEPROM) through RAM buffer commands.

This capability is now available as part of the ICP Family software release (minimum version 16.2.1a, firmware 38.2 or higher).
